About
M-Dock Band Biography
Home base is Springfield, Missouri
Formed in the summer of 1992 and celebrating their 22nd year, the M-Dock Band began as an acoustic trio on Table Rock Lake. In 1995, the Springtown Horns joined the band, and brought a whole new dimension to the music. Today, from the acoustic sounds of CSNY, to the rock and roll of the Beatles and Stones, to the jazz rock of Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears, the M-Dock Band does it all.
One of the most requested bands in the Midwest, the M-Dock Band appeared annually before 60,000 people at Springfield’s “Firefall,” and has opened for The Little River Band, Jay Leno, Wayne Newton, The Platters, Moe Bandy, Legends in Concert and Tony Orlando.
The M-Dock Band has truly traveled the world. In 1999 and 2000, the full band played in Ixtapa, Mexico. In June 2003, M-Dock appeared in concert at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. In August 2004 and again in 2013, the band performed in Springfield’s sister city Isesaki, Japan. In September 2006, it was the Hard Rock Café in Guadalajara and two public concerts in Springfield’s other sister city Tlaquepaque, Mexico. Each January for the past thirteen years, members of the band have played benefit shows for the Sailfest/Por Los Ninos charity in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, raising money to furnish 16 elementary school classrooms so far.
The band consists of Howard Cotner (vocals and acoustic guitar), Bill Evans (vocals, acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, mandolin and harmonica), John Price (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars), Brent Hendrix (vocals, electric guitar), Scott Pope (bass guitar), Greg Hale (vocals, keyboards), Dennis Winkle (drums), Steve Quinn (saxophone), Bryant Robinson (trumpet) and Bob Swanson (trombone).
